"They Are Sitting On TV.."- Wasim Akram Tears Apart Imad Wasim

Former Pakistan Captain Wasim Akram takes an indirect dig at Imad Wasim on a TV chatshow. Pakistan cricket is suffering from some difficult times with all the drama instilled in their cricket board and then there is a lot of speculation going around the team’s selection for the World Cup.

Recently, Inzamam ul Haq was summoned for questioning regarding his participation as a shareholder in a player’s management company which produced a conflict of interest. Inzamam resigned from his post as the chairman of the selection committee after this probe.

After this, a lot of players showed interest in playing for the Pakistan National cricket team, names like Shoaib Malik, Imad Wasim and Ahmed Shehzad showed interest in playing for the Pakistan team. Wasim Akram however didn’t like the fact that some players, who are available to play domestic cricket and enhance their game are rather wasting time sitting on the TV and expressing their desires to play for Pakistan.

“A couple of the players are available to play domestic cricket but they are sitting on TV and then, they want to play for Pakistan. How is that possible?” said Wasim Akram on A Sports. This was an indirect dig towards Imad Wasim who is currently not retired from any form of cricket but still comes on TV as a Cricket expert.

Pakistan, under the leadership of Babar Azam, are standing fifth at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 points table. They can qualify for the Semi-Finals but they have to win their last game against England with a huge margin in order to match New Zealand’s NRR. However, if New Zealand lose their match against Sri Lanka and Pakistan wins against England then Pakistan will qualify for the World Cup semi-finals.

If Pakistan qualifies for the Semi-Finals then they will face their arch-rivals India at the Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata on 16th November. However, one of the advantages that Pakistan has is that New Zealand will play their match ahead of Pakistan which means the ‘Men in Green’ will have the perfect equation to qualify for the semi-finals when they face England on Saturday.
