Star West Indies National Cricket Team mystery spinner Sunil Narine, who made his debut for the side in 2011, is hopeful of making a comeback to the national team in the future.

However, he has only played 51 games for West Indies National Cricket Team in T20Is. The 34-year-old last played Test cricket in 2013, ODI cricket in 2016 and T20I cricket in 2019.

Meanwhile, star mystery spinner Sunil Narine, while talking about his West Indies comeback, said that “there’s a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff going on”.

“There’s a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff going on, which I don’t really want to get into, but I mean, everybody would love to represent their country. It’s a hard thing watching them knowing that you want to be part of it and you’re not part of it,” Narine was quoted as saying in Cricket Monthly.

“Things happen for a reason and hopefully, in the future, I’ll be wearing maroon again, but until then, I’d still love to play for the Windies. We shall see when that opportunity comes, but there will never be a no for West Indies,” he added.

Overall, Narine has played 6 Tests, 65 ODIs and 51 T20Is in his career. The 34-year-old has bagged 21 Test, 92 ODI and 52 T20I wickets.
