The World Cricket witnessed a cracker of a contest between India & Pakistan in the 2011 WC Semi-Final clash. Sachin Tendulkar had played a stellar knock of 85 runs against Pakistan which proved to be the difference in the end. Sachin Tendulkar played a key role in posting a competitive knock of 260-9.
It was a collective effort from India’s bowlers against a quality Pakistan batting lineup. MS Dhoni’s captaincy was top-notch as he rotated his bowlers smartly. Misbah -ul- Haq fought a lone battle as he couldn’t get ample support from the rest of the batters. Pakistan lost the match by 29 runs.

We should not forget that the likes of Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh & MS Dhoni were dismissed cheaply in the semi-final. Suresh Raina played a handy knock of 36 runs in 39 balls at the back end of the innings which gave the impetus to the team.

Sachin Tendulkar was having an interaction with the ICC. Sachin Tendulkar stated what was the atmosphere like during the clash against Pakistan as both the PM of the nation were present for the match.
Sachin Tendulkar stated that due to tight security, the team’s lunch didn’t arrive and everyone in the team was quite unhappy. Sachin Tendulkar pointed out that even during the warm-up session some of the players were talking about the lunch being not served.
“It wasn’t exactly a lighter moment, because it was the semi-finals of the World Cup in 201. India was playing Pakistan. Both the Prime Ministers were going to be there. So it was very, very tight security. We got to the ground and the normal routine is, you know, once you get to the ground, you have pre-match lunch and then you go out on the field for your warm-up sessions and then slowly, slowly get in the game,” said Sachin Tendulkar.

“Because of security reasons, you know, our food hadn’t reached the ground, and the whole team was agitated. The whole team was like, ‘Lunch kidhar hai? Where is our lunch? You know, this is the World Cup semi-finals, we need to prepare ourselves’, and all that. And that continued for a while. Even when we went on the field for our warm-up session, there were still a couple of guys thinking about it,” he added.

Sachin Tendulkar made a staggering statement to the players that show how much hungry you are by scoring runs or picking wickets and forgetting everything as this is World Cup Semi-Finals.
“So we were in a huddle, and that’s when I spoke briefly. I said, ‘The world is not bothered whether we’ve had our pre-match lunch or not. This is the World Cup semi-finals,” said Sachin Tendulkar
