Young Indian batter Abhimanyu Easwaran recently shared his thoughts on not being selected for the Test squad for the upcoming series against the West Indies. Abhimanyu Easwaran stated that he was disappointed after the squad announcement for the two-match Test series.

Abhimanyu Easwaran was part of the team in England and Bangladesh. However, he didn’t get the opportunity to make his international debut for India. The right-handed batter was included in the national squad despite scoring five centuries in his last 10 first-class matches.

It Was A Little Disappointing For Them – Abhimanyu Easwaran

In an interview with India Today, Abhimanyu Easwaran stated that he wanted to score more runs in the Duleep Trophy to make his comeback for the national team.

“They were also disappointed. They expect more than me. As a cricketer, I know how to be in the present but they always look forward to whenever a team is announced. So, it was a little disappointing for them, but again they know that for me right now, the Duleep Trophy is important,” Easwaran said.

“There is disappointment but we cannot do much about it, that is how life is. I am trying to get my focus back on Duleep Trophy and that I think is the most important thing for me right now. This snub has not broken my spirit at all, I am not going to give up, that’s for sure,” he added.
