KL Rahul will be the front runner to get the Test vice-captaincy of India. KL Rahul has shown his brilliance in batting in the longest format in the last year which also enabled him to cement his place as an opener. The 29-year-old was the vice-captain of the team in the recent IND vs SA Test series due to the absence of Rohit Sharma. He also led the side in IND vs SA 2nd Test in the absence of both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma from the match.

Jasprit Bumrah is the third player that can be promoted as India’s next vice-captain. Bumrah is one of the prime pacers for the team currently. He is a regular member in all three formats and also the only player after Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in BCCI’s top salary cap.

Bumrah is also picked as the team’s vice-captain in the upcoming IND vs SA ODI series 2022. Bumrah also shares a close bond with Rohit Sharma, as both the players have represented the same IPL franchise Mumbai Indians since 2013.
