Pakistan National Cricket Team have appointed former Australian head coach Tim Nielsen as the high-performance coach in the longest format of the game. The moves come ahead of the two-match Test series against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team.

Pakistan are all set to host Bangladesh for the two-match Test series later this month. The Test series will begin on 21st August in Rawalpindi followed by the second match to be played in Karachi from 30th August. Both the games will be part of the ICC Test Championship.

Pakistan National Cricket Team have been under the scanner for a while now because of the poor performances of late. However, ahead of the Test series against Bangladesh National Cricket Team, they are making sure that they tick almost every box right and get into the series fully prepared.

The addition of Tim Nielsen to the coaching staff of the Pakistan National Cricket will be a massive boost for the team. Having coached the Australia National Cricket Team, his experience no doubt will be an important factor for the team going into the Test series against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team.

Tim Nielsen will be working with Test head coach Jason Gillespie. The duo have worked together earlier on as well. They have worked together in South Australia, and they would be keen to make an impact for the Pakistan National Cricket Team in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.

Tim Nielsen's career over the years

Tim Nielsen was Australia's head coach from February 2007 until September 2011. He replaced legendary John Buchanan in the role. Under his coaching, the Australia National Cricket Team won the Champions Trophy in 2010 and also registered famous wins in all three formats.

Tim Nielsen also played in the domestic circuit for South Australia. He played 101 first-class and 49 List-A games, scoring over 3,800 runs in first-class cricket and 639 runs in the List-A format. He also did a decent job with the gloves for the team.

Tim Nielsen, despite having a decent record, didn't play for Australia, but he has been decent in the coaching role. He has joined Jason Gillespie's staff and is collaborating on overseeing Pakistan Shaheen's training camp ahead of the Bangladesh Test series.

The upcoming Test series will be extremely crucial for the Pakistan National Cricket Team. They have announced their squad for the Test series and are putting in hard yards ahead of the series. Under the leadership of Shan Masood, they would be hoping to start fresh.

Pakistan are currently fifth on the World Test Championship (WTC) table, only 2 points behind fourth-placed Sri Lanka. The last time they played against Bangladesh, they won the series by the margin of 2-0. It will be a great opportunity for them to bag crucial points.

Imam-Ul-Haq, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Nawaz, Noman Ali, and Sajid Khan have dropped from the Pakistan team. The management has included fresh faces in the team. They would be hoping that players come up with good performances.
