Bangladesh take on UAE in the second T20I in Dubai on September 27. The Tigers opted to play two T20Is against UAE as a warm-up ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia. They won the first T20I and look for favourites to win the second.

Riding on Afif Hossain’s 77 off 55 balls, Bangladesh scored 158/5 in their 20 overs. Skipper Nurul Hasan scored 35 off 25 balls as he and Hossain added an unbeaten 81-run stand to take his side to a competitive total. As it turned out, the total proved a little too much for the UAE batters as they were bowled out for 151 with the Tigers winning the game by seven runs.

“Always feels good to bat under pressure, I wanted to bat till the end and good to come out of it as a success. No extra pressure on us despite missing a few senior players. We have to play our best XI at all times. I hope I can get runs in the next game as well. The fans were really good, thanks to them” said Afif on his knock.

The Bangladesh stand-in skipper was also happy with how his players performed in the match. He had a special mention for Afif’s innings as well.

“They bowled well in the powerplay, we lost three wickets. There was also dew so our bowlers couldn’t grip it, we felt we were short by 10-15 runs. We missed wickets in the powerplay but our bowlers Shoriful and Miraz bowled very well at the death. Afif played really well, rotating strike throughout and it was crucial for us” said Nurul Hasan.
