South Africa National Cricket Team cricketers Keshav Maharaj, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller and Kagiso Rabada shared their views about Indian captain Rohit Sharma ahead of the final of the T20 World Cup 2024. They rated the opening batter highly, calling him one of the greatest batters.

India captain Rohit Sharma is arguably one of the best players to have graced the game of cricket. The opening batter for the last decade has been the backbone of the national team in all three formats of the game, being touted as the best opener in the world.

Rohit Sharma is currently captaining the Indian team in the ongoing T20 World 2024. The opening batter has been sensational as the captain of the team. He guided the team to the final of the tournament and will be taking on South Africa on Thursday (29th June).

Rohit Sharma also is leading from the front and is currently the highest run-scorer for the team with 248 runs. The opening batter has been exceptional as the leader as well and under his guidance, India has been undefeated and would be keen to win the title as well.

Ahead of the final, Keshav Maharaj talked about India captain Rohit Sharma, saying that he is a fearless batter and lauded the opening batter for his sensational leadership skills as well. Speaking to Star Sports, he explained:

"I've always been a huge fan of Rohit Sharma. I think from a batting perspective, he's fearless. I think he's got probably one of the best shots over cover in world cricket, if ever when he's on song as well. And from a leadership perspective, I think you can see he leads the game well.

"He finds a way of sort of drawing everyone together and making everyone feel comfortable. But I also think his tactfulness on the field with how he approaches various characters to bring out the best in them is fairly standout for me."

I think he's got an unbelievable cricket brain, very gutsy - Heinrich Klaasen

Heinrich Klaasen while talking about Rohit Sharma stated that the India captain makes a lot of good calls and plays with the ego of the opposition. He also expressed his desire to have a conversation with the opening batter about the game. He added:

"I think he's got an unbelievable cricket brain, very gutsy. He makes a lot of great calls that other captains don't do. He does blow on your ego a lot. So I would like to have a conversation about him, and how he thinks about the game.  So hopefully one year I'll pass or cross and we can have a conversation about that. But he's a special, special cricketer when he's in form. It's not a lot of bowlers that can bowl to him. So hopefully he won't get form against us."

David Miller also talked about the same and stated: "Oh look, he's always calm. He just seems like he's got it all together."

Kagiso Rabada said: "He is one of India's greatest batters. That's what I admire about him. Yeah, he's chilled."
