UP Warriorz takes on Delhi Capitals women in match 4 of WPL 2024 in Bengaluru on Monday, February 26. The match starts from 7.30 pm IST. The Chinnaswamy stadium hosts the first 11 matches of WPL 2024. The tournament’s second half, including the Eliminator, will be played in Delhi.
Alyssa Healy leads UP Warriors. They lost their campaign opener against RCB women as they failed to chase down 158 for victory. They lost in the end by two runs after finishing for 155/7 in their 20 overs.
RCB Women scored 157/6 in their 20 overs. The UP Warriorz were well on course to win the game settled at 126/3 in the 17th over. Three wickets by RCB spinner Sobhana Asha changed the game on its head for UP. They lost Shweta Sehrawat (31), Grace Harris (38), and Kiran Navgire (1) as RCB came storming back into the game.
UP needed 10 off the final over to win as they fell short by just two runs with Sophie Molineux keeping her cool in the final over. She dismissed Alyssa Healy to strike a breakthrough for her team. Heading into their next game, UP should think about bringing in Chamari Athapaththu who was called in as a replacement for Lauran Bell. She can come in for Tahila McGrath.
