Updated ICC World Test Championship Points Table After SL vs PAK 2nd Test, WTC Table: Pakistan National Cricket Team hammered Sri Lanka National Cricket Team in the second Test of the two-match series at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground, Colombo. The Babar Azam & Co. won the match by an innings and 222 runs inside four days.

Heading into the second Test 1-0 down, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first in the match. The decision was a good one as the surface looked decent enough for batting.

However, the Lankan batters failed miserably in the innings and the hosts were bundled out for just 166 in 48.4 overs as Pakistan bowlers Abrar Ahmed and Naseem Shah dominated with the ball.

When Pakistan came to bat, they played an aggressive brand of cricket and smashed Sri Lanka bowlers all over the park. Abdullah Shafique finished as the top performer for his side as he smashed a remarkable 201 runs. Also, Agha Salman hit a spectacular 132* while Shan Masood, Saud Shakeel, and Mohammad Rizwan contributed with good half-centuries.

On Day 4, Pakistan piled up 576/5 on the board before announcing the declaration. The hosts were put under tremendous pressure and it was important for skipper Dimuth Karunaratne alongside Nishan Madushka to provide their side with a good start.

The openers did exactly that and they looked settled in the middle before Nishan Madushka was removed by Noman Ali. At Lunch, Sri Lanka were in a good position at 81/1 in 25 overs.

After lunch, the veteran spinner Ali became even more dominant as he added 6 more wickets to his tally to reduce the hosts to 177/7. The young pacer Naseem Shah did the rest of the job as he cleaned up the tail by dismissing Prabath Jayasuriya, Dilshan Madushanka, and Asitha Fernando for a duck.

The Dimuth Karunaratne-led side were bowled out for 188 in 67.4 overs as the Babar Azam-led side won by an innings and 222 runs. This was Pakistan’s highest margin of victory in an away Test. Also, this was Pakistan’s fifth Test series win in Sri Lanka.
