USA vs IND: Mohammed Siraj labeled 'unprofessional' as Sunil Gavaskar blasts Virat Kohli's teammate for this mistake

After bashing Virat Kohli in IPL 2024, Sunil Gavaskar has now targetted the batter's India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru teammate Mohammad Siraj.
Sunil Gavaskar, who is a part of the Star Sports English commentary panel for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, criticized Mohammad Siraj while he was on air. It is unknown whether the bowler has come to know about it or not but one thing's for sure, Gavaskar's comments might as well start another wildfire.
During the Indian Premier League months, Sunil Gavaskar had done something similar when he had called out Virat Kohli. The Indian batting stalwart had made some questionable remarks towards the commentators who were criticizing him for his strike rate. In response, Gavaskar had directly called out Kohli and said that he or any other commentator doesn't have any personal agenda.
He also said that they only speak about what they see and if cricketers actually don't care about the outside noise, then they should not even react. This is what Gavaskar had said. Just a few months later, the 1983 World Cup winner launched a similar attack on Mohammed Siraj, who still had a decent performance in the game.
What intrigued Sunil Gavaskar to bash Mohammed Siraj?
In the 17th over of the 2nd innings during Pakistan's run chase, Mohammed Siraj had come to bowl his 4th and final over. With less than 30 runs required for the Pakistanis to win the match, even a single mistake could have proved costly. But in that very situation, Siraj went on to bowl a no-ball and that did not go well with Sunil Gavaskar.
The former Indian opening batsman condemned Mohammed Siraj's timing of bowling the no-ball and claimed that he couldn't believe that a professional cricketer did so. In Sunil Gavaskar's views, bowling an illegal delivery at such a crucial juncture of the game is not justified and it is something that Siraj should have control over.
Gavaskar further added that he can see a bowler bowl a wide ball since it's not in control but overstepping is something that is in the control of a bowler. Therefore, Sunil Gavaskar lashed out at Mohammed Siraj and claimed that his no-ball is unforgivable, unprofessional, and unacceptable at this level.
"Unforgivable. Professional cricketers, whatever you are, you cannot bowl a no-ball. It is in your control. Wide balls are not always in your control but no-ball is. Unprofessional, unacceptable at this level. No excuses whatsoever," Sunil Gavaskar said via Star Sports.
India to face USA and Canada up next
After beating Pakistan by 6 runs at the Nassau County Stadium in New York, India will now face co-hosts USA and Canada in their last two group matches. The tie against the United States is going to take place on Wednesday, June 12 and the one against Canadians will take place at the Central Broward Regional Park in Florida on June 15.
Given the kind of form that India are in at the moment, it won't be shocking to see them remain undefeated in the group stages.
