Varun Aaron To Represent Baroda In The Upcoming Domestic Season After Leaving Jharkhand

The 32-year-old India National Cricket Team fast bowler Varun Aaron, who made his Ranji Trophy debut for Jharkhand in the 2008-09 season of the marquee domestic tournament, has left Team Jharkhand and is all set to play for Team Baroda in the forthcoming season of the domestic cricket.
The right-arm pacer Varun Aaron, who grabbed the headlines when he hit 153 kph during the 2010-11 season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy final against Gujarat, has played 9 Tests and 9 ODIs for the India National Cricket Team and has picked up 18 and 11 wickets respectively.

Aaron, whose career has been marred with frequent injuries, has played 63 first-class games, picking up 167 wickets, and 73 List-A games, picking up 115 wickets. He played his last first-class match for Jharkhand in 2020 against Maharashtra and his last List-A game for Jharkhand came against Hyderabad in 2021.

On Monday, August 29, the 32-year-old took to Twitter to announce that he has left Jharkhand and will be playing for Baroda in the upcoming domestic season.
“Goodbyes are never easy!! As I leave the jharkhand team @cricketjsca , which has been my cricketing home for the last 18 years, I am going on to represent Baroda @cricbaroda in the upcoming domestic season. Looking forward to a great season with the boys in Baroda,” the express pacer tweeted on Monday, August 29.

Varun Aaron is part of the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League as he was bought by the franchise for Rs 50 lakh at the IPL 2022 mega auction. He has previously represented the Delhi Daredevils ( now Delhi Capitals), Kings XI Punjab ( now Punjab Kings), Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
