The India National Cricket Team spinner Varun Chakravarthy has expressed his disappointment at the team’s 26-run defeat against England in the third T20I match in Rajkot on Tuesday, January 28. Chakaravarthy had a record-breaking outing in Rajkot but couldn’t even mention his spell.
India's mystery spinner has yet again wreaked havoc on England's batting line with his stunning bowling in Rajkot, taking his second five-wicket haul in international cricket. However, his efforts went in vain, as the Men in Blue fell short of the 172-run target in the third T20I, with England keeping their hopes alive in the ongoing five-match T20I series.

Despite the defeat, the 33-year-old spinner was named Player of the Match for his exceptional five-wicket haul, but he was feeling “sad” about not finishing on the winning side in Rajkot, as it would have won the home series for the India National Cricket Team against England on Tuesday.

However, Varun Chakravarthy encouraged his teammates to put the third T20I loss behind them and focus on winning the remaining two matches in Pune and Mumbai to seal the ongoing T20I series against the England National Cricket Team.
Chakravarthy said in the post-match presentation: “Sad, we didn't make it this match, but that's the nature of this game. Got to move on and get ready for the next match.”
Varun Chakravarthy reflects on his role in the Indian cricket team
The Indian leg-spinner has emphasized the importance of taking responsibility while playing for the country. Varun believes that he has been able to fulfill this role to some extent. He noted, “When you are playing for the country, you have to take responsibility. I am able to do that to an extent.”
Meanwhile, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav decided to take Chakravarthy off after he bowled a solid over during the powerplay and brought him back in the 9th over. The leg-spinner struck by dismissing England captain Jos Buttler, but then Suryakumar was yet again removed from the attack.
He was then recalled in the 14th over and bowled two straight overs and dismissed Jamie Smith, Jamie Overton, Brydon Carse, and Jofra Archer. The Indian captain's strategy left many puzzled, but the 33-year-old had no issues with Suryakumar's tactic of giving spinners one-over spells.

Chakravarthy further stressed, “I don't complain (about one-over spells), because there have been times when I have bowled four overs on the trot. I am ready for everything.”
Well, Varun is famous for his ability to deceive batters with his googly, but recently, he has been focusing on perfecting his flipper. This new weapon has so far been effective for him. Chakravarthy signed off by saying, “Working on my flipper, it's coming out well. As I told you in the previous match, maybe I have bowled well, but I can get better going forward.”
Notably, India and England will next face each other in the fourth T20I on January 31 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, while the fifth and final match will be held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on February 2. After the T20I series, they will also play 3 ODIs.
