Former Indian captain Kris Srikkanth made a bold declaration on KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy, predicting the end of his international career, as he claims that there is no mystery left in his bowling.

Varun Chakravarthy has been KKR's most dependable wicket-taking bowler in the past few seasons. They had the likes of Mitchell Starc, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, and Harshit Rana, but Chakravarthy managed to beat them all with his unreadable spin bowling. At the back of his performances, he was also offered a spot in the Indian team and went on to earn widespread recognition.

However, the No. 1 ICC T20I bowler faced a startling fall as he was thrashed by the batters in the second half of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Varun gave away runs at an economy of nearly 12 and averaged 45 in the last 5 games. However, he still finished as the leading wicket-taker in the World Cup at the back of his group stage domination.

"Your mystery has become history" - Kris Srikkanth

Former Indian captain Kris Srikkanth has never minced his words to launch severe attacks against any player whom he feels is performing below the standards set by the player himself.

He has now attacked the Indian cum KKR spinner, Varun Chakravarthy, for his lack of ability to spin the ball away from the batters. He has pointed out that without this ability, he will never be able to threaten a batsman.

"Unless Varun Chakravarthy learns to spin the ball and bowl leg-spin, he will struggle. Just bowling googlies all the time will not sustain. He has to get some variations and get the leg-spin going. There is no mystery with him anymore. Your mystery has become history," the former cricketer trolled Chakravarthy on his YouTube channel.

'Rohit Sharma finished the game in Varun Chakravarthy's over in the powerplay' - Srikkanth's explosive remark on KKR spinner

Rohit Sharma made a startling comeback in the IPL. Sharma didn't hesitate to dominate every bowler in that KKR lineup as he smashed a match-winning 78-run knock. Sharma scored his half-century during the powerplay and had set the stage for the Mumbai Indians to chase that big total with ease.

"Bowl leg-spin and take the ball away from the batters. That's when batters will fear you. Firstly, he should not be given the ball in the powerplay.

"Rohit Sharma finished the match in his over itself in the powerplay. Varun Chakravarthy's confidence got dented there itself, and after that, he started bowling fast," he added.

Varun Chakravarthy gave away 15 runs in that over, and Rohit seemed confident, having cleared the fence against the veteran spinner. He played some breathtaking shots against the KKR spinner, who failed to surprise him.

Mumbai Indians won their opening match in IPL 2026, breaking a 13-year-long jinx

Rohit Sharma seemingly has the habit of breaking the 13-year-long jinxes. He did the same for the Indian team when he led Men in Blue to a World Cup title ending their 13-year-long wait after a win in 2011.

This time the right-handed batter helped the Mumbai Indians end their drought for a win in the first game of the season after 13 years. Their last victory came back in 2012, and after 13 losses, the Mumbai Indians broke the humiliating record by defeating KKR at their home venue at Wankhede.
