Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021: Bihar Player Tests Positive For Covid-19

In an unfortunate turn of events, the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy has had its first Covid-19 positive case in the form of a player from the Bihar Cricket team.
A senior official of the Bihar Cricket Association has confirmed the same to news agency PTI. While the concerned player is in Bengaluru, other members of the squad are being tested.
“It is confirmed and the concerned player has been isolated from other players. He is currently in Bangalore as he cannot travel,” a senior official of the state’s cricket body told PTI on Tuesday.
Another source, according to PTI, has stated that other players will undergo the Covid PCR test on Tuesday, with the results expected by evening.
The Bihar Cricket Team is placed in Elite Group C and is playing all its league-stage fixtures in Bengaluru.
Bihar has suffered consecutive drubbings in Vijay Hazare Trophy thus far
While they lost their campaign opener to Railways by ten wickets after the latter chased their total of 189 without breaking a sweat, the side suffered another humiliating defeat in the following fixture against Karnataka after they were knocked over for 87 in response to the target of 355.
Bihar is expected to lock horns with Uttar Pradesh in a league game on Wednesday and according to the state’s cricket association, the game is expected to go on as scheduled.
