Indian batter Virat Kohli will likely stay back in the UK following the conclusion of the white-ball series against England, as per reports.

Kohli has not been named as part of the T20I or ODI squads for the West Indies tour. He has been rested for both the series and as per, he is expected to stick around with his family.

The 33-year-old’s availability for the 2022 Asia Cup is unknown but he will be keen to come back and perform in the tournament. The selectors are probably going to come to a final assessment on his standing for the T20 World Cup there as well.

His place in the T20I side is already under threat with the likes of Deepak Hooda performing brilliantly in the limited opportunities he has gotten in the absence of Kohli.

Hooda will get another chance to prove his credentials as he has been named for the T20I and ODI squads for the upcoming tour of the West Indies. He has a great chance of cementing his place in the Indian squad.
