Virat Kohli will be desperate to turn things around in the upcoming five-match Test series between India and Australia. The former India captain has been facing criticism from all around for his poor display with the bat in recent months.
Even in this year's T20 World Cup, he was having a forgettable campaign before he scored a match-winning fifty in the final. It was followed by a disappointing campaign in Sri Lanka where he registered scores of 24, 14 and 20 in the ODI series.
His fortunes did not change even when India played the Test series against Bangladesh and New Zealand at home. In five Tests, he scored only a solitary half-century. In two Tests against Bangladesh, Virat Kohli's scores were 6, 17, 47 and 29*.

His performance against New Zealand was even more disappointing as India suffered a humiliating whitewash in the series. In six innings against the Black Caps, Kohli registered scores of 0, 70, 1, 17, 4 and 1.
Unsurprisingly, he is under immense pressure with many even questioning his place in the Test side. Time and again, Virat Kohli has shut down his critics in style and he will be eyeing a similar response in Australia. However, things have not started in a very positive manner for the star batsman Down Under.
Kohli failed to get going in the intra-squad game at the WACA. As per reports, Kohli started his knock with two brilliant cover drives before being dismissed by Mukesh Kumar. It was a good length delivery from Mukesh Kumar and Kohli ended up edging the ball to the fielder at second slip. The star batsman departed after scoring a modest 15 runs.
A couple of beautiful cover drives - but Virat Kohli has nicked a good length delivery to second slip. Another typical WACA dismissal. He made 15

Virat Kohli's record in Australia:
Kohli has a stunning record with the bat in Australia. The former India skipper has been one of the best overseas performers on Australian soil in the last decade or so and would be hoping that he replicates his performance in the upcoming series as well.
The veteran batsman has played 13 Tests in Australia so far. In 25 innings in Australia, Virat has scored 1352 runs at an average of 54.08. He has hit six centuries and four half-centuries as well. Kohli last hit a century in Australia during the 2018 Perth Test. With the upcoming series also starting in Perth, he would be desperate to score another century.
