Indian batting legend Virat Kohli got excited as he ran to meet his former RCB teammates from South Africa. Former South African legend Dale Steyn was seen alongside Quinton de Kock, and Kohli arrived to greet them in Visakhapatnam's team hotel.

India are currently hosting South African cricketers for a long series that includes a month-long cricketing action across several cities in this vast nation. The first two games marked the red-ball series, which was followed by a three-match ODI series.

This series marks the return of Indian great Virat Kohli to competitive international cricket on home soil, after the legend last played in the country back in June for RCB in the final. Kohli, who has also been in fine touch, looked in a jolly mood on the eve of the decider at Visakhapatnam.

Virat Kohli greets South African players in the team hotel

The Indian and South African players returned to the team hotel following their optional session on the day before the series decider was scheduled to be played in the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

As Virat Kohli arrived in the cafeteria region of the hotel, he met former teammates Quinton de Kock and Dale Steyn. The current South African wicket-keeper batter and the former Protea pacer were both Kohli's teammates in the RCB.

Kohli approached the two South African cricketers and greeted them with a broad smile and warm hugs. Dale Steyn held onto the veteran, while QDK was also joyful to meet his former dressing room mate.

Quinton de Kock announces his return to India with a commanding 7th hundred

Quinton de Kock came out of retirement in the white-ball format as he marked his return to international cricket against Pakistan in the series last month. He played the T20Is and the ODIs for them in the series and scored a comeback century as well.

With two half-centuries and a century in a three-match series, de Kock came to India in sheer form. However, he missed out on runs in the first two games of the series as he succumbed to the excess pressure of chasing mammoth totals.

The left-handed batsman came back with some swag as he thrashed the Indian bowlers to register his 7th century against India. He surpassed former Sri Lankan great Sanath Jayasuriya to set the record of 7 centuries within 23 innings.

Who might target QDK in the IPL mini-auction?

Quinton de Kock did not have a promising season with the Kolkata Knight Riders last season, except for one 97* earlier in the series, and was hence released ahead of the mini-auction. But with his return to international cricket, his form has surely been elevated, and he might be backing a contract this time around as well.

Mumbai Indians might be one of the teams that look interested in having a wicket-keeping opener in the side, and they could have a go at their former player. However, MI has a very limited purse and might have a go only if QDK goes for his base price.

Other than the Mumbai Indians, other franchises like the Delhi Capitals might also be looking for an opener, while the likes of Sunrisers Hyderabad can see de Kock as a suitable no. 3 for their side.
