Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant Rested, Sanju Samson Returns As BCCI Announces India's Squad For 3-Match T20I Series vs Sri Lanka

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced India’s squad for the three-match T20 International series against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team, which will be part of the Sri Lanka tour of India 2022.

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli and wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant have been rested for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. However, they are expected to make a comeback to the team for the two-match Test series which will be played after the T20I series.

Meanwhile, wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson, who is captain of Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has made a comeback to the India National Cricket Team.

The inclusion of Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson and the exclusion of Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant are the major changes made to the Indian T20I squad. The other big news is the return of pacer Jasprit Bumrah and spin bowling all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who were not part of the three-match ODI and T20I series against West Indies.

Rohit Sharma will be leading the team in the series and his deputy KL Rahul who recently suffered an injury will not be part of the series.
