Team India, led by Shubman Gill, is currently taking on Mitchell Marsh’s Australia in the third and final ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney on Saturday, October 25. During the match, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma equaled a 13-year-old mega record held by legends Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid.
Before the Australia series, Rohit and Virat last played in the Champions Trophy 2025. Their comeback to international cricket grabbed the attention of the cricketing community. Rohit scored an impressive half-century in the second ODI match, while Kohli recorded consecutive ducks in Perth and Adelaide.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's Performances for India in International Cricket
Rohit Sharma debuted for India in 2007, while Virat Kohli played his first international match a year later in 2008. Notably, Rohit featured in Kohli’s maiden ODI match. Over the years, the pair became pillars of Indian cricket, representing the country across all three formats until 2024.
They have played 60 Tests, 225 ODIs, and 106 T20Is together. Both legends retired from T20 internationals after guiding India to victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup and stepped away from Test cricket ahead of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 against England.
The milestone of equalling Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid’s record came during Kohli’s 305th ODI and Rohit’s 276th. They have shown longevity in Indian cricket over nearly two decades.
Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid's Legendary Partnership from 1996 to 2012
Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid’s partnership began in 1996 when Dravid made his debut for India, joining an already established Tendulkar in the national team. They played together until Dravid’s retirement after the 2011-12 BGT Trophy, while Tendulkar played his last match in November 2013.
Their partnership marked one of the golden eras of Indian cricket. The duo played most of their careers in Tests and ODIs. Notably, both legends played only one T20I each — Tendulkar in 2006 and Dravid in 2011. Overall, they appeared together in 146 Tests and 245 ODIs for India.
