Veteran Pakistan Pacer Junaid Khan recently picked the greatest Indian batter. He is currently not a part of the Pakistan national cricket team but was once considered a bowler with tremendous potential.
While speaking on the Nadir Ali podcast, Junaid Khan spoke about a number of topics from the Pakistan World Cup campaign to Indian PM Narendra Modi’s interaction with the national cricket team after the loss in the World Cup final.
However, the most talked about topic he touched upon was choosing the greatest Indian batter of all time. Time and again Sachin Tendulkar has been hailed as the best batter in world cricket and not only in Indian cricket.
However, the veteran pacer chose Rohit Sharma as the best Indian batter of all time. He said that Rohit has all the shots in the book which sets him apart from the likes of Kohli and Sachin when spoke from the perspective of modern cricket.

“Mere kahayal mei Rohit Sharma (when asked who’s the better batter between Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli). Kyuki jis tarike ki vo batting karta hai, har kism ki shot uske paas hai” Junaid Khan said.
He further said that had Sachin Tendulkar played in the modern era with the balance of the game so much in favor of the batsmen, he would have scored 150 hundreds.
“Sachin ke runs aap keh sakte hai ki jis time par usne runs banaye agar aajkal ke daur mei hota to uski jo centuries hai vo 100 se 150 tak hoti,” Khan said.
He further complimented Rohit for scoring three double centuries in ODI cricket. Besides that, he also has four centuries in T20I cricket on par with Glenn Maxwell now.
“Rohit aisa hai ki… Hitman isliye he usko kehte hai. 264 jo hai one-day mei karna, fır double hundred uske 2-3 hai. Ye karna badi baat hoti hai. Ek baar ho jaate hai par jab aap baar baar karte hai to lagta hai ki aap mei vo quality hai. Sabse jyada chakke (sixes) usne he maare hai, toh isliye mera vote jo hai vo Rohit ke paas he jayega.” Junaid said this on the Nadir Ali podcast.
The Indian skipper recently said that he is no longer interested in playing T20I cricket and has backed the selectors to give chances to new players in the build-up to the T20 World Cup. He and Virat Kohli have not played T20Is since the T20 World Cup 2022.
