Former India cricketer Amit Mishra picked the best batter and leader between the two pioneers of Indian cricket - Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. He picked the current India skipper better than Kohli in both aspects of the game.
Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been the backbone of the India National Cricket Team over the last two decades. They have carried the India batting lineup together and are major reasons behind the success of the team in all three formats of the game.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli no doubt are the leading batters in the game of cricket and even in their late 30s, they are still the heart and soul of the Indian batting lineup. The duo are also the most consistent batters going around and are touted as the legends of the game.
Over the years many fans and pundits have often compared Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as who among them is better batter. Amit Mishra also gave his take on the same when he asked to pick a better batter between the two as he has bowled to both of them.
Amit Mishra backed Rohit Sharma, saying that although he has got the India skipper out quite a few times, he is difficult to bowl. Speaking on Shubhankar Mishra podcast, he stated: "I think Rohit Sharma is better. I have got him out a lot, but he is a better batsman."
Amit Mishra was also asked to choose a better captain between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. He went with the T20 World Cup 2024-winning skipper.
Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are amongst the best captains to have led the Indian National Cricket Team. Kohli had a different aura as a leader as he made the team a beast in overseas conditions and instilled a culture of fitness.
Under the leadership of Virat Kohli, India won their first-ever Test series in Australia and showed the way to the team on how to win in overseas conditions. He also took the team to the final of the Champions Trophy in 2017, the semi-final of the ICC World Cup 2019, and the ICC World Cup Test Championship Final in 2021.
On the other hand, Rohit Sharma brought an attacking approach to the team and taught the players how to play fearless attitude. He guided the team to the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022, the final of the World Cup 2023, and the final of the World Test Championship in 2023.
Rohit Sharma finally had his hands on the World Cup trophy as he guided his team to the T20 World Cup 2024 win. He joined Kapil Dev, and MS Dhoni as the captain to win the World Cup for India.

After winning the T20 World Cup 2024, India National Cricket Team players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli retired from the T20I cricket. They both stated that they wanted to end their career on high and there was no better time for them to say goodbye and let the youngsters take over the charge.
Virat Kohli scored 4188 at an average of 48.69 and a strike rate of 137.04 in his career. He played 125 matches and ended his career as second-highest run-scorer in the format. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma is the leading run-getter in the T20I cricket. He ended his career with 4231 runs to go with five hundreds, the most by a batter in T20I cricket. He also hit 32 fifties and had a career strike rate of 140.
