Virat Kohli's brother rubbishes claims of their Mom's health being disturbed, provides breakthrough update

Virat Kohli’s elder brother took to the social media platform Instagram and asked his fans as well as media outlets to stop spreading fake news about the degrading health of their Mother Saroj Kohli as the reason for the star batter’s absence from the first two Tests against England in Hyderabad and Vizag.

Virat Kohli is currently out of action for the Indian team that is gearing up to host England for the 2nd of a 5-match Test series in Vizag on February 2nd. Kohli opted out of the first two Tests owing to personal reasons and today his elder brother had a harsh choice of words while expressing his dissatisfaction with the rumors related to his mother.

There were a lot of theories being talked about the possible reason for Virat Kohli’s absence in the Indian team during a very important Test series against a formidable opposition. While some are saying that Kohli is expecting his second child with Anushka Sharma, others have claimed that the 35-year-old is just trying to manage his workload.

Another theory that was put forth on social media was that Virat Kohli has taken some time off cricket to look after the health of his mother. While is still unknown as to why the batting stalwart is not being featured, his brother has clarified that his absence doesn’t have anything to do with Saroj Kohli who is absolutely fit and fine.

“Hello everyone. I have noticed that there is this fake news about our mom’s health been circulating around. Let me clear that our mom is absolutely fit and fine. Also I would request everyone and also the media, not to spread such news without proper information.” – Vikas Kohli wrote. 

It should be noted that the BCCI had said in a press release that Virat Kohli has asked for complete privacy in the matter related to his absence. The apex cricket board had also suggested his fans and media outlets to not intervene in this matter but it hasn’t been the case has it?

“The BCCI requests the media and fans to respect Virat Kohli’s privacy during this time and refrain from speculating on the nature of his personal reasons. The focus should remain on supporting the Indian cricket team as they embark on the upcoming challenges in the Test series.” – BCCI wrote. 

As Gautam Gambhir said, Indian cricket fans are obsessed with personalities and that is why neither fans nor the media are backing out from sharing their own theories.

Will Virat Kohli Return For The 3rd Test In Rajkot?

According to sources close to BCCI, Virat Kohli has not updated or spoken about his return to the team in time for the 3rd Test against England in Rajkot, which is slated to start from February 15th. The Indian team missed his services badly during their 1st Test loss by 28-runs and to make matters worse, Kohli’s number 4 replacement KL Rahul who scored 86 in the 2nd innings, has also been ruled out due to quadriceps injury.

Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid are left with two uncapped batters – Rajat Patidar and Sarfaraz Khan as possible number 4s. Who makes the final cut? Time will tell.
