Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli had shared a video on his social media handles a couple of days ago where he talked about sharing tips to celebrate a safe Diwali.

The video was part of the social networking site Pinterest’s Advertisement campaign.

In the caption in his Instagram post, Kohli mentioned that to follow his Pinterest account for further updates and also provided the link for the same in his bio.

However, the link to his Pinterest account disappeared from his Twitter and Instagram profiles as of Tuesday morning.

Kohli was heavily criticised by the netizens for his initiative to run the campaign for Pinterest and keeping the history of anti-firecrackers propaganda he had run in the past during Diwali.

Trollers were right upon their tasks and asked the Indian skipper to focus on the game rather than advising them on how to celebrate Diwali.

Virat Kohli to step down from India’s T20I captaincy after T20 World Cup

Kohli will be in his swansong as India’s T20I captain in the ongoing T20 World Cup after last month he announced his decision to step down from the role after the showpiece event.

This will be his big opportunity to win an ICC Trophy for India under his leadership and end on a good note.

However, Kohli will continue to lead India in Tests and ODIs but has also decided to step down from his IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore’s captaincy duties.

India are paired with Pakistan, New Zealand, Afghanistan and two more teams yet to be qualified in Group 2 of the Super 12 stage.

India will be playing against Pakistan in their opening match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on October 24.

India defeated England by seven wicket in the first warm-up game on Monday. Kohli could contribute only 11 runs after facing 13 balls. India plays Australia in the next warm-up game before taking on Pakistan.
