Virat Kohli's Wax Statue Damaged at Madame Tussauds

India cricket captain Virat Kohli, whose wax statue got unveiled at the Madame Tussauds museum in New Delhi on Wednesday was removed from the museum within a day due to some damage.

An official from the museum confirmed the news and cited a probable reason behind it. However, he also added it is once again getting ready for the visitors and will take its place shortly.

Yes, it was damaged. But now the statue has been rectified,” the official told NDTV.com.

Meanwhile, the museum suspects the right ear of the statue was damaged while the fans were taking selfies.

Kohli’s statue ear was damaged due to some reason. We have fixed it immediately and fans are most welcome to visit the museum to take the photos with the India captain’s statue,” the official added.

Moreover, Kohli has now joined the likes of David Beckham, Lionel Messi, Kapil Dev and Usain Bolt, whose statues are already in the museum.

The Indian skipper appreciated the efforts put in by the workers to make the statue. Stating it is a lifetime experience, the India captain thanked all the fans for the love and support.

Kohli’s figure depicts him in action wearing the Indian team’s ODI jersey. The museum in Connaught Place features wax likenesses of famous personalities from Bollywood, Hollywood, musicians and even politicians.
