Afghanistan pace bowling all-rounder Karim Janat wants to be a mixture of Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar.
Rohit Sharma is regarded as one of the contemporary batters in the world in all formats of the game. With his explosive batting skills, the Hitman loves to annihilate the bowlers on the field.
Rohit, who recently turned 35 on April 30, took over the Indian captaincy reins from Virat Kohli in all three formats this year. Rohit is the only batter to score three double-hundreds in One-Day cricket and four international hundreds.
On the other hand, Akhtar would terrorize the batters with his raw pace, lethal bouncers, and pinpoint yorkers. He would play matches on occasions when he wasn’t completely fit but wouldn’t miss the opportunity of having a go against the batter.
Akhtar clocked 161.3 kph against England during a 2003 World Cup fixture. It has been a decade since the Rawalpindi-born pacer retired from international cricket but his extraordinary record is yet to be challenged.
I want to be a mix of Rohit Sharma and Shoaib Akhtar
Karim, who has played 34 T20 Internationals and one ODI match for Afghanistan, revealed his love for Rohit and Akhtar.
“I really like two players one is Shoaib Akhtar and another one is Rohit Sharma and I want to be a mix of them,” Karim told Cricbuzz.

Karim has claimed 30 wickets in 34 T20I matches at 28.67 and an economy rate of 8.26. He was part of Afghanistan’s T20 World Cup campaign in the UAE last year.
The Afghanistan pacer conceded four sixes in the penultimate over against Asif Ali in the clash against Pakistan.
Karim played all five matches in the group stage for Afghanistan, and interestingly, he got just one wicket in the tournament, that too of Rohit Sharma. He scored 59 runs in three innings, his unbeaten 42 against India was the best for the 23-year-old all-rounder in the showpiece event.
