While it’s fair to say that Sunrisers Hyderabad have endured a poor campaign at IPL 14, the treatment of skipper David Warner seems harsh to many outside observers. The powerful Australian batsman has been a mainstay at SRH and has played nearly 100 games for the franchise.

He’s been at the heart of all their positive moments but, as the men in orange drifted to the bottom of the table, it appears that Warner took all of the blame. Dropped from the starting XI, it seems that the Australian has played his last match for the team but, when the next auction comes along, Warner will be the first name on most teams’ wanted list.

Rock Bottom

The Sunrisers will also need to regroup after a campaign that saw them win just three of their 14 group games. Not surprisingly, it’s a record that left the franchise at the very bottom of the league table with just six points.

When the betting markets are reset for the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League, it’s likely that SRH will be the rank outsiders for success. Arabianbetting.com will supply odds from a panel of the top cricket betting companies and Hyderabad will be propping up the outright winner market.

The most effective sides in 2021 will start at the top so the favourites are likely to include Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals and the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Following major events such as the auction, those odds will adjust and Arabianbetting will reflect any updates in the market. Other betting options such as Top Tournament Batsman and Top Tournament Bowler will also be quoted.

While visitors to the website are reading news and opinion articles from around the cricketing world, they can also sign up to anyone from that panel of bookmakers if they wish. The majority of operators will have generous welcome packages in place while a choice of funding methods and efficient customer help facilities are among the other benefits.

Sunrisers may have a better chance of success in those markets if they had David Warner in the ranks but, while that looks unlikely, the question is where will he go?

Chennai Calling

Chennai Super Kings were criticised for having an ageing squad in 2020 but the side responded at IPL 14 to reach the final with their ‘Dad’s Army’. As he reaches his 35th birthday, Warner won’t bring CSK’s average age down too much but he’ll be a perfect fit if the franchise want to move an overseas batsman on.

Faf Du Plessis is 37 and has struggled with injury at times and he could be the player to make way if David Warner comes in.

Bangalore’s Vacancy

One team who are more likely to have a vacancy for an overseas batsman next season is Royal Challengers Bangalore. The evergreen South African AB De Villiers looks to have played his last game for the franchise following a heartbreaking defeat to Kolkata in 2021’s eliminator.

Warner can move around the top order, either opening with Virat Kohli or moving down to number three. Wherever he features, his power hitting could finally help Royal Challengers to that elusive first title.

New Boys Need Players

It’s been announced that two new IPL franchises will be added to the schedules for the next edition of the competition. Speculation as to where those teams will be situated continues but, wherever they may be, they will need a completely new squad of players.

It’s an exciting development for the league and it will allow many new faces, both domestic and overseas, to join the biggest T20 tournament in the world. At the same time, experienced players who are without a franchise will be valuable signings for the new boys and David Warner will be firmly in their sights.

We may never know the real reason why Warner has been frozen out at Sunrisers Hyderabad but he’s certainly not finished with the IPL and we’re sure to see him back, somewhere, in 2022.
