There has been a lot of debate over the Virat Kohli-led Indian team management’s decision to play Ishant Sharma over off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in the ongoing Lord’s Test.

The debate seemed to have settled on the third day when Ishant Sharma claimed three crucial wickets against the run-0f-play in the form of Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali, and Sam Curran.

However, with the track showing signs of wearing down on the fourth day, the debate seems to have picked up again with former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer also joining the bandwagon.

Unpredictable bounce coupled with instances of a puff of dust exploding off the surface was a common occurrence on the fourth afternoon whenever Moeen Ali bowled even though the turn was on the slower side.

Wasim Jaffer took to his Twitter account where he posted pictures of a puff of dust exploding off the surface and he cheekily captioned it as “Let me tell you a kutty story”- a reference to Ashwin’s Youtube channel.

“Let me tell you a kutti story.. The main character is missing.. #ENGvIND”- wrote Wasim Jaffer.

Meanwhile, the Lord’s Test seems to be meandering nowhere with the duo of Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane grinding it out on what has turned into a slow, low, placid surface.

The duo have added 66 runs off 246 deliveries after having come together following the dismissal of skipper Virat Kohli in the morning session.

India’s overall lead is just 94 runs and although they haven’t lost a wicket for some time, they could be in for real trouble if England manages to get a breakthrough before the new ball becomes available.
