Ajinkya Rahane will have his task cut out when he leads India in the crucial second Test against Australia, starting on December 26 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). While Ajinkya Rahane is not new to captaincy, he is gearing up to lead the team for the first time in overseas Tests as regular captain Virat Kohli will miss the remainder of the series due to the paternity leave.

Ajinkya Rahane has led India twice in the past and both the games were played at home. Incidentally, his first Test as captain was against Australia in 2017 when he led India to a win in Dharamsala. His second Test as a captain was against Afghanistan in 2018 and he led the team to win once again. India will be desperately hoping that their star man continues his 100 percent record as a captain in the upcoming Test.

And as Ajinkya Rahane gears up for the game, former India opener Wasim Jaffer has shared an interesting message with him. Jaffer took to social media to share a hidden message for his former Mumbai teammate and also wished India’s stand-in captain for the Boxing Day Test.

“Dear @ajinkyarahane88, here’s a (hidden) message for you. Good luck for Boxing Day!

PS: you guys are open to have a go and decode the msg too #INDvsAUS #AUSvIND,” wrote Jaffer.

Well, it did not take long for the fans to decode Jaffer’s message as the first alphabets of all the words suggested PICK GILL AND RAHUL. There have been calls from several quarters to pick Shubman Gill and KL Rahul for the second Test after India’s humiliating defeat in the first Test. India lost the game by eight wickets after being bundled for 36, their lowest total in Tests.
