West Indies fast bowler Oshane Thomas had a forgettable day in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024-25 as he conceded 15 runs in just a single delivery while playing for Khulna Tigers. It happened during the third match of the tournament between Khulna Tigers and Chittagong Kings on December 31, 2024.

Thomas was given the responsibility to bowl the first over of the innings by his team but it seemed like he struggled to control the seam and swing of the new ball. The first ball was a short of a length ball outside off stump which the batter Naeem Islam slammed it to mid-off for a simple catch.

However, the umpire ruled it as a no-ball as Thomas had overstepped. The next ball, which was a free hit, was a little fuller but Naeem missed an attempted swipe across the line. The second ball was a good length ball on the stumps which the batter connected well to send it over backward square leg for a six.

But things turned worse when this turned out to be another no-ball. Oshane Thomas was clearly struggling with his line and length and went on to bowl two big wides outside off stump. The next ball was a juicy full toss which Naeem swiped across the line to find a four through the leg side. This turned out to be a big no-ball as well.

Watch: Oshane Thomas concedes 15 runs in 1 ball

Oshane Thomas was in disbelief at what was going on and had his hands on his face. The last no-ball was the biggest no-ball out of all. As a result, he conceded 15 runs while bowling just a single legal delivery.

Oshane Thomas comes back strongly

Under pressure at that point, Thomas came back strongly to concede just three runs in the next five balls. The West Indies quick also picked up the big wicket of Naeem Islam in the penultimate ball of the over.

Oshane Thomas might have conceded 18 runs in the over but it seemed like a better over after the way he started. But the horrific start to the over was enough to convince the Khulna Tigers captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz not to bring Thomas back for another over again.

Khulna Tigers register easy win

Although it was a bad over for the Khulna Tigers, it resulted in a great start for the Chittagong Kings as they had the momentum with them. But they couldn't capitalize and lost wickets at regular intervals.

At 75-8, it seemed that their innings would wrap up quickly. But the middle order batter Shamim Hossain had other ideas as he played a blinder after coming in to bat at No. 6. Hossin smashed 78 off just 38 balls and struck 7 fours and 5 sixes during his knock. But the Kings were bowled out for just 166 with seven balls remaining.

Earlier, Khulna Tigers had scored 203-4 on the back of brilliant knocks from William Bosisto and Mahidul Islam Ankon. Bosisto smashed 75 off 50 balls while Ankon smashed a blistering 59 off just 22 deliveries with 1 four and 6 sixes.
