The superstar Delhi Capitals (DC) batsman KL Rahul launched a brutal assault on the premier Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pacer Josh Hazlewood on Thursday, April 10.

The M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru hosted the 24th match of the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the Delhi Capitals.

KL Rahul smashed 4,4,2,2,4,6 off Josh Hazlewood

Rahul played a brilliant knock for the Delhi Capitals against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He came out to bat at the No.4 spot after opening the innings in the previous match.

DC were under pressure upon Rahul's arrival in the middle as they had lost both the openers Faf du Plessis and Jake Fraser-McGurk while Abishek Porel also got out in the 5th over. If that was not enough, Axar Patel also got out in the 9th over and DC were reeling at 4-58.

However, KL Rahul didn't let his team get under pressure and showcased a batting masterclass. He played cautiously in the initial half of the innings and accelerated when there was need.

After the 14th over of the innings during the run-chase of 164, there were some drops of rain falling at Chinnaswamy. At that time, DC's score was 99/4, and they needed to be at 115 runs by the end of the 15th over if they wanted to confirm a win - in case the rain played spoilsport.

Rajat Patidar brought in his best bowler - Josh Hazlewood - looking at the DLS par score and KL Rahul went berserk against him. Rahul batter aggressively in the over and slammed 4,4,2,2,4 before finishing the over with a 6 and taking his team's score to 121/4

His aggressive approach is a breath of fresh air - Wasim Jaffer on KL Rahul

Speaking on ESPNCricinfo ahead of the RCB vs DC clash, the former India batter Wasim Jaffer showered high praise on Rahul for his aggressive approach with the bat in IPL 2025. He elaborated:

"Yeah, he does. He has got hundreds against them. Local boy, he will enjoy playing at Chinnaswamy. And I like the approach KL Rahul is playing with. He had a measured 70. I think the main reason Delhi won that game because he converted that 20-30 into that 70. It was a tricky pitch.

"But his aggressive approach is a breath of fresh air to see. Again, if Faf du Plessis opens the batting, he might come in at number 4. So, he has a role to play. He will enjoy batting at Chinnaswamy.

"And I think the influence that Axar Patel is making as a captain, that is something very nice to see as well. How he is getting used to that position, how he is rotating his bowlers and he himself, the way he is batting. So, Delhi is looking a very solid team as well."
