India’s dominance over Pakistan reached a new high on Sunday, October 5, in Colombo, and it wasn’t just the players who stole the spotlight in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 clash. Aakash Chopra added fuel to the fire with his razor-sharp remarks on the rival side.
India Women thrashed Pakistan by 88 runs in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 group-stage clash to extend their unbeaten record against their arch-rivals to 12-0. Batting first on a sluggish Colombo surface, India posted 247 thanks to Harleen Deol’s composed 46 and a late blitz from Richa Ghosh, who hammered 35 off just 20 balls after a mid-innings stumble.
Aakash Chopra adds spice to India-Pakistan rivalry with sharp commentary
Defending the total, Indian bowlers were relentless. Star pacer Kranti Gaud was the standout bowler, claiming 3/20 while removing key batters Sadaf Shamas, Aliya Riaz, and Natalia Pervaiz. For Pakistan, Sidra Amin fought a lone battle with a gritty 81, but they were never in the chase against the Indian side.
While the on-field action was intense, Aakash Chopra’s commentary won hearts with his sharp remarks. As Pakistan slumped to 9/1 in the chase, the former Indian batter-turned-commentator reminded fans of India’s historic streak. He pointed out that the record itself was proof of India’s superiority while mocking Pakistan for their poor performances.
Aakash Chopra said on the air during Pakistan’s chase when they were on 9/1: “Here, you don’t need to prove how good or how bad you are, whether you win or lose. The proof is already in front of everyone, and the proof is that India leads 11-0.”

Another Sunday, another heartbreak: Aakash Chopra mocks Pakistan
By the time India sealed victory, Chopra cheekily summed it up by noting how another Sunday had brought yet another heartbreak for Pakistan, as it was the fourth consecutive Sunday where the Indian side humbled their rivals.
Actually, he referred to Pakistan’s recent crushing defeats to India in the Asia Cup 2025. Pakistan suffered humiliating defeats in the group stage, the super fours, and the final as well.
At the closing state of the game, Chopra again cooked Pakistan by saying, “This team is really good. Their preparation is a preparation. Another Sunday. Yet again, India has defeated Pakistan. One Sunday after another has gone by the same way. 12-0 now. This is the fourth Sunday in a row where Pakistan has come and faced defeat.”

Aakash Chopra criticizes Pakistan and Sri Lanka for surrendering against India
The cricket pundit didn’t stop there as he slammed Pakistan and Sri Lanka for surrendering without a fight against India in the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. He warned that such lifeless performances could drive fans away from the game.
Chopra posted, X: “If teams don’t try to win the game, the game loses. Pakistan tonight. Sri Lanka at Guwahati. Both threw in the towel with at least 30 overs to go in their batting innings. Such games push the spectators away!!! #WWC25 #IndvPak”

The high-stakes clash will be played at the ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, and India will be aiming to continue their winning streak and maintain momentum in the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup 2025.
