The star India National Cricket Team batsman Rinku Singh was dismissed by a perfect yorker from the South Africa National Cricket Team pacer Andile Simelane on Wednesday, November 13.

Rinku Singh's dismissal in the third T20I of the four-match series against South Africa has put extra pressure on him as he has failed miserably in his last few T20I outings.

Rinku Singh has scored just 91 runs in his last 7 T20I outings

The 27-year-old left-handed batsman Rinku, who was regarded as the next big thing in T20I cricket, has not lived up to his reputation in the last few T20I matches.

Rinku started off very well with the Indian team smashing quick runs consistently. However, things have only gone downhill for him since the Indian Premier League 2024.

He was not given enough opportunities by the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024 due to which he also failed to make it to India's 15-man squad for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.

Meanwhile, Rinku got the opportunity to bat in two T20Is in the recent home series against Bangladesh where he registered scores of 53 and 8*.

As the action moved towards South Africa, Rinku's struggles began as in his first two outings he scored 11 and 9 runs. In the third T20I, he looked miserable out in the middle and just couldn't get going.

He was dismissed after scoring 8 runs off 13 balls in the 18th over. On the 5th ball of the over, Simelane delivered a perfect yorker, and Rinku played all over it. The ball sneaked under his bat and dismantled the stumps.

Overall, in his last 7 T20I innings, Rinku Singh has scored just 91 runs at a poor average of 15.16 and a strike rate of 128.16.

South African bowlers had dominated India's batters in the Gqeberha T20I

South Africa put on a clinical bowling performance in the previous T20I, dismantling India’s batting lineup and keeping them to a paltry 124/6.

Right from the start, the Proteas bowlers kept things tight, with Marco Jansen destroying Sanju Samson's stumps for a 3-ball duck in the first over.

Next, Gerald Coetzee struck with a strategic short delivery to dismiss Abhishek Sharma, who once again fell to a pull shot. By the time Andile Simelane trapped Suryakumar Yadav lbw with a searing yorker, India were three down with only 15 runs on the board. It was the maiden T20I wicket for the youngster.

After that, Aiden Markram removed Tilak Varma, with David Miller pulling off a remarkable one-handed catch at extra cover, leaving India struggling at 45/4.

Nqabayomzi Peter, too, made his mark, dismissing Rinku Singh with a sharp delivery and then pulling off a Night Night celebration. Each South African bowler contributed to this disciplined assault and eventually helped the Proteas clinch the win.
