Watch: Azam Khan Carried On A Stretcher After Being Hit On The Head By A Nuwan Pradeep Ball

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper Moin Khan’s son, Azam Khan, who is also a wicketkeeper, was injured during the present Lanka Premier League (LPL) and had to be stretchered off the field.

The incident occurred on Monday during a match between the Galle Gladiators and the Kandy Falcons, which the former won by a score of 12 runs.

The incident occurred when Falcons were attempting to reach a challenging 154-run goal in the 16th over. Nuwan Pradeep, a pacer, veered off course and bowled on the leg side in the 16th over when the batter let it alone.

The wicketkeeper, Azam, was caught off guard by an odd bounce when the ball hit the ground before it reached him after taking two bounces.

This occurred in the seasoned Sri Lankan pacer Nuwan Pradeep’s 16th over of the Kandy Falcons’ run chase. A slower delivery down the leg side was delivered by Pradeep on the third pitch of that over, and it appeared that Chamika Karunaratne, the hitter, would dispatch it into the bleachers with ease.

The batter, though, chose not to even try and instead left the ball in order to get a wide. Sadly for the stumper Azam, the ball bounced once before reaching him, and when he attempted to catch it, the ball awkwardly struck him on the head, knocking him to the ground.

Azam Khan was unable to recover from the blow and was on the ground for some time before the support crew arrived to check on him. They first administered a concussion test to him, and because Azam Khan was unable to continue playing at that time, he was carried off the field on a stretcher.

Gladiators provided an update on the wicketkeeper, stating that Azam Khan has been transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile, a franchise official verified to geosuper.tv that the scan findings were fine and that the player was doing well a few hours later.
