Former West Indies captains Brian Lara and Carl Hooper could not restrict their emotions after West Indies defeated Australia in the 2nd Test at The Gabba in Brisbane. While Brian Lara, who had tears in his eyes, expressed his excitement inside the commentator box of the AUS vs WI 2nd Test, Carl Hooper got emotional during a live-streaming.
West Indies defeated Australia by 8 runs in AUS vs WI 2nd Test in Brisbane. Australia needed 216 runs for victory in the match. However, Shamar Joseph hunted 7 wickets to crush Aussie’s batting line-up.
Australia failed to chase down the target in the final innings. They looked powerful at the start. Opener Steve Smith held the hopes for Australia with his unbeaten half-century of 91 runs till the end. However, the hosts remained short of 8 runs in the end.

West Indies batted first in the match and posted 311-10 in 1st innings. Australia remained 22 runs short later, piling up 289-9 (d). However, they bowled out West Indies for 193-10 in 2nd innings and set a 216-run target.
Although Australian grounds are considered good for chasing, the home team failed to do that at The Gabba. Shamar Joseph arrived with a stunning show in AUS vs WI 2nd Test. He grabbed 7 wickets to win the player of the match award. He also won the Player of the Series award.
However, the AUS vs WI Test series ended in a 1-1 tie. Earlier, Australia won the opening match by 10 wickets. Australia and West Indies will now lock horns in a three-match ODI and T20I series.
