Crazy scenes unfold in Delhi as MI beat DC
Batting first in the match, Mumbai Indians posted a good score of 205 for 5 on the board, riding on good performances from Tilak Varma, Ryan Rickelton, Suryakumar Yadav, and Naman Dhir.
Chasing the target, Karun Nair, with his exceptional knock of 89 runs, kept Delhi Capitals in the hunt, but his dismissal suddenly shifted the match in Mumbai Indians' favor.
DC needed 39 runs off 18 balls to win the match and Ashutosh Sharma alongside Vipraj Nigam batted brilliantly to keep the hopes alive. The scenario came down to 23 runs off 12 balls when Hardik Pandya decided to give the over to Jasprit Bumrah.
Bumrah started the over with a dot ball but got smashed for a four on the next two deliveries. Meanwhile, the thing that happened on the remainder of the over was a total nightmare for the Delhi Capitals.
Ashutosh Sharma played a delivery from Bumrah towards point and while going for a double, he got run out.
On the 5th ball, Kuldeep Yadav played towards deep mid-wicket and went for two, but was unable to complete the second run, resulting in a run-out. Then, Bumrah bowled a full ball to Mohit Sharma, who played towards mid-wicket and ran for a single, but Mitchell Santner produced a direct hit to run him out.
All the Mumbai Indians players, including Hardik Pandya, erupted in joy after the hat-trick of run-outs as Delhi Capitals were bowled out for 193 runs and MI clinched a 12-run win.

Nice to get over the line obviously - Mitchell Santner
Speaking after the match, MI spinner Mitchell Santner, who produced the final run-out, said that he was delighted to finish on the winning side and highlighted the importance of good fielding. He stated:
"Nice to get over the line obviously. Every game in the IPL seems to be going down to the wire and it's nice to be on the winning side tonight. It was one hell of a game tonight in Delhi.
"(On the final wicket of the match) Fielding can change games and we have seen it many times in the IPL. Obviously, to end the match with 3 run-outs is pretty crazy. I think Boult is pretty happy as he didn't have to bowl the last over.
"It was one of those games. We were behind in the game for a long time. Boult's third over helped us to get back in the game. The bowling coach, Malinga, was pretty happy. He has been telling us to bowl 6 yorkers in an over and today, Boult did exactly that."
Mitchell Santner further labeled the bowling performance of Karn Sharma as the turning point of the match. He elaborated:
"I think, Karn's spell was brilliant. Playing your first game and coming in and picking up three crucial wickets was outstanding. I think that's the only way of stopping teams from scoring a lot of runs. Karun Nair's innings was very impressive. He was also playing his first innings of the season and played some amazing shots.
"Yeah, the ground is pretty small. It might look ugly at times but we need to try and bowl boundary-less overs. I think the spinners have done really well. They have been defensive at times and sometimes it's important for the team."
