In the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match no.65, it was the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) taking on the Mumbai Indians (MI), a hilarious incident happened during KKR’s batting innings, as two MI fielders once again re-created Pakistan’s viral catch drop moment at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. This time, it was the duo of Deepak Chahar and Robin Minz.

The two fielders looked at each other and missed the catch of Rovman Powell. After the miss, it sums up Mumbai’s poor season in the tournament as they are bottom placed, and today also the batters failed to put up runs on the board on a tricky wicket. They are already knocked out of the tournament.

Powell, who has been back in the side in place of Matheesha Pathirana, is lying dangerously on a two-paced wicket. The West Indies batter had survived two chances already in the game. He is still batting on the score of 24 runs. The more runs Powell scores will sting Deepak Chahar in the match.

KKR lost the wicket of Finn Allen early, and then Ajinkya Rahane, who looked in good touch, went back for 21 runs. Cameron Green, who was unfortunately on a poor ball sliding down the leg side, scored 4 runs. Deepak Chahar is taking the early wicket, and Corbin Bosch is picking up two wickets.

Rovman Powell and Manish Pandey have stitched a partnership of 54 runs off 35 deliveries on a wicket that has helped the bowlers. The two have hung on after three quick wickets in the innings and are slowly edging closer to the run chase. Manish came in at no.3 and has been batting on 43 runs.

MI batters poor show continues

After being asked to bat first, the Mumbai Indians had no answer for the KKR bowlers and lost wickets at regular intervals. They did not have the best tournament, and on a track with some moisture due to the early rain before the game.

Hardik Pandya and his boys struggled to get started. It has been a difficult night for all Michigan batters. Corbin Bosch scored 32 runs off 18 deliveries, helping the team to a fighting total of 147/8 after 20 overs.
