India National Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma grabbed the spotlight ahead of the second ODI against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team. The second game of the series between the teams is underway at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday (4th August).

Just ahead of the start of the game, India captain Rohit Sharma was seen doing the bowling practice, indicating that he might roll his arm in the ongoing second ODI against Sri Lanka National Cricket Team. This is because of the conditions that have been there in the Colombo.

In the first ODI between India and Sri Lanka, the pitch in Colombo offered great help to spinners. The surface for the ongoing game is pretty similar to what it was in the last match, and there won't be a surprise if India needs some of the part-timers to roll their arms as they did in the last T20I with Rinku Singh and Suryakumar Yadav bowling too.

As the India team was doing warmup ahead of the second ODI, India skipper Rohit Sharma was seen bowling some off-spin. While the others were seen stretching, the captain focused on his bowling, and we might see him bowl in the ongoing game.

Here's the video:

Ahead of the first ODI, Rohit Sharma was even asked by broadcasters if he would be bowling in the series or not. However, the India captain didn't show interest and stated that they have a lot of bowling options in the team, and he will be focusing on his batting in the ongoing three-match series. Basically, it was clear no from Rohit on blowing for India.

Rohit Sharma, when he stepped into international cricket, was a decent bowler. The Indian captain used to bowl regularly for the team. In the ODIs, he has taken 9 wickets and was last seen bowling during the game against Netherlands in the ICC World Cup 2023, where he took a wicket as well.

Rohit Sharma shines with bat in first ODI

In the last against Sri Lanka, Rohit Sharma was at the top of his game with the bat. The opening batter came up with a brutal display of batting and took his team off to a flying start. He seemed to be batting on a completely different track as he smashed bowlers all over the park.

Rohit Sharma ended with an innings of 58 runs off 47 balls. The opening batter batted with a strike rate of over 123 and also slammed 7 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. However, his efforts went in vain as Indian batters couldn't cash on the start he got and failed to win the game.

The first match between India and Sri Lanka ended in a tie. After Rohit Sharma got out, the Indian batters couldn't get going. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and came under pressure. With one run needed off the last 14 balls, Arshdeep Singh got out as India got all out for 230 runs.

Rohit Sharma would be keen to make a major impact in the ongoing game. The right-hander would be eager to lead from the front and help his team win the game and go 1-0 up in the series.
