Gautam Gambhir is rarely seen smiling on the field or in public. He is rarely seen smirking, let alone laughing his heart out. However, the former India skipper has left the fans stunned with his reaction to an anecdote shared by his former India teammate Gautam Gambhir.

Last week, Star Sports released a video titled 'A Grande Reunion' in which several former India cricketers including Gautam Gambhir and Dinesh Karthik featured. The chat was moderated by sports presenter Jatin Saproo and attended by the winners of the 2007 T20 World Cup. Apart from Gautam Gambhir and Karthik, the likes of Irfan Pathan, Ajit Agarkar, Harbhajan Singh, and RP Singh participated in the chat session as well.

During the same session, Karthik shared a hilarious story about Gautam Gambhir. The former India wicketkeeper-batsman called his former teammate 'the laziest athlete ever' before sharing an incident as well.

"I didn’t want to embarrass Gauti [Gautam Gambhir] in the public but I’ll tell you this one thing. Of all the people I’ve seen in my life, he is by far the laziest athlete. Actually, he didn’t change the song because he didn’t want to put that fast-forward button.

"I was next to Gauti’s room. He was just lying down on the bed. We were getting a single room…," said Karthik.

Gautam Gambhir tried to defend himself by interrupting Karthik and telling him the players did not get single rooms while playing for India A. However, it made little difference as Karthik continued his story.

"The point is, I was walking past his room. He said, ‘DK, come here.’ Okay, I went into his room, he was lying on his bed and he’s like, ‘There’s a remote there, please change the channel.”

"He can be lazy but that’s a bit too much. He could walk just two steps. As I was walking outside, he called me from there and made me take the remote. He wasn’t even willing to change the TV channel," added Karthik who recently brought down curtains on his playing career.

And as Karthik was narrating the story, Gambhir struggled to control his laughter and was seen laughing his heart out.

Meanwhile, Gambhir is likely to replace Rahul Dravid as the next head coach of Team India. The former opener is reportedly the front-runner to bag the high-profile job. Dravid's tenure will come to an end after the conclusion of the ongoing T20 World Cup.
