Former India National Cricket Team keeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has been giving his best for Paarl Royals in the ongoing SA20. The right-hander came with a stupendous effort behind the stumps during the game against MI Cape Town on Wednesday, January 15, which took place at Boland Park in Paarl.

One such effort came in during the match against MI Cape Town when he took a sensational catch to remove opening batter Azmatullah Omarzai. The keeper-batter, even at the age of 39, displayed great skills and provided his team with a crucial breakthrough.
Dayyaan Galiem bowled a short-length delivery that was straight. Azmatullah Omarzai thought of playing the flick to the on-side, but the ball nipped away and took a thick edge off the closed bat face. There was a big deflection, and it seemed that the batter would get saved.
But Dinesh Karthik, behind the stumps, came up with the Superman effort. The keeper-batter dived full length to his right and caught it with his right hand. The ball popped out as he landed on the ground, but he showed great skills, and he managed to clutch it with the chest.

Dinesh Karthik didn't have a great outing with the bat, but thankfully, Paarl Royals went on to win the game. The keeper-batter scored 10 runs off 6 balls with the help of one boundary. But the hero of the innings for the team was young Lhuan-dre Pretorius.
The 18-year-old left-hander smashed 83 off 52 balls, including eight boundaries and three sixes. Thanks to his heroics with the bat Paarl Royals went to chase the target of 159 runs with 6 wickets in hand. This was their second win in the SA20 2025.
