South Africa's Donovan Ferreira took a catch for the ages during the SA20 match between Joburg Super Kings and Sunrisers Eastern Cape played at The Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg. The catch was taken during the final stages of Sunrisers Eastern Cape's innings.

During the 19th over of the innings, fast bowler Hardus Viljoen dug in a short ball outside the off stump as the batter Beyers Swanepoel tried to give himself room and smash the ball towards the deep point.

It seemed like the ball would clear the boundary easily but Donovan Ferreira had other ideas. The 26-year-old ran around and stuck his right hand out to take an absolute screamer just on the edge of the boundary line.

Donovan Ferreira couldn't believe what he had done and ran around the boundary to celebrate the wicket. It was a catch for the ages as the South African showed his immense athletic ability and insane reflexes. It was the first ball for Beyers Swanepoel and he was dismissed for a golden duck.

While Donovan Ferreira took a fine catch, he wasn't required to bat in this game. The lower-order batter has scored 88 runs in 4 innings so far at an average of 29.33 and a strike rate of 146.66. Sunrisers Eastern Cape batting stumbles

Earlier, Sunrisers Eastern Cape elected to bat first after winning the toss. However, they didn't start well and lost Zak Crawley in the first ball of the innings. Lutho Sipamla further got the wicket of Tom Abell in the last ball of the over, reducing the Sunrisers to 2-0.

The situation kept getting worse as they were reduced to 17-4 inside the first four overs with skipper Aiden Markram back in the hut as well. David Bedingham played the lone hand for the defending champions and scored a fine 48 off 40 balls.

But he was dismissed by the legspinner Imran Tahir. Tristan Stubbs and Marco Jansen added some useful runs down the order to take Sunrisers to 118. Hardus Viljoen was the pick of the bowlers Sunrisers with 4-24 while Sipamla picked up three wickets.

Joburg Super Kings cruise to the target easily

In reply, Joburg Super Kings openers started well but lost Faf du Plessis for 15. But Devon Conway and Wihan Lubbe prevented the fall of any further wicket as the home team reached the target within 14 overs only.

Conway finished with 76* off 56 balls and smashed 11 fours and 3 sixes during his knock. Meanwhile, Lubbe finished unbeaten on 25 off 17 deliveries with 3 fours and 1 six. Lutho Sipamla was adjudged the Player of the Match for his brilliant start to the game.
