The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) has been stopped in the middle of the first innings. The 58th game of the tournament between the teams took place at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.
The match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals started one hour late as per the original schedule due to the rain. However, the game was possible for only an hour after that as Pakistan launched a drone attack on India, and as a result of that, the match was stopped first and then later called off.
Fans at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala were evacuated
Punjab Kings (PBKS), who opted to bat first, played a magnificent brand of cricket. Openers Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya slammed brutal half-centuries and put Delhi Capitals bowlers under pressure. The duo added 122 runs for the opening partnership in 10.1 overs.
However, as soon as Priyansh Arya got out, one of the light towers went off, and soon after that, two further light towers went off as well. Then, after that, players and the umpires left the field, but what caught the attention of many was the movement in the crowd.
The fans at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala were evacuated. This was because Pakistan launched an attack in the Pathankot area of Jammu and Kashmir, which is around 80 km away from the Dharamsala Stadium.

The team is in high spirits right now and everyone is stepping up at the right time - Shreyas Iyer
Punjab Kings (PBKS) skipper, at the toss, mentioned that their batters are in good form and this is a big positive for the team. He also stressed that his side in his spirits right now and everyone is stepping up at the right time. He explained:
"If you see the last game, the way our openers started and other batters capitalising, that gives us a fair point to come and bat first. Essentially if you see the trend in the IPL, the players who are in form and win you matches are the team who go ahead and win the championship. That's a great motivating factor coming down after 11 games.
"The team is in high spirits right now and everyone is stepping up at the right time. Absolutely on top of the world the way things are panning. It's important we tick the boxes right, not think about the results that much. You got to stick to your routines. We are going with the same batting line-up."
