Chris Woakes reduces India to 0/2
India delivered an awful performance with the ball in the fourth match of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy and allowed England to pile up 669 and take a 311-run lead.
The poor performance of India continued in the third innings as they got off to a horror start with the bat and were reduced to 0/2.
Chris Woakes opened the bowling for England, and on the fourth ball of the first over, he dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal. The Indian opener tried to flick a delivery from Woakes, but ended up edging to slips, where Joe Root grabbed an excellent catch in the second attempt.
On the very next ball, Woakes bowled a back-of-a-length delivery that Sai Sudharsan tried to leave, but got a bottom edge and was caught by Harry Brook. India lost two wickets in the first five balls with nothing on the board as both openers walked back for a duck.

It was the first time since 1983 that India lost two wickets for 0 in a Test innings, and overall, it was the 11th such instance.
When India lost two wickets for 0 last time in Test cricket with Malcolm Marshall dismissing Aunshuman Gaekwad and Dilip Vengsarkar in Chennai, Sunil Gavaskar played an iconic innings of 236*.
Also, it was the earliest (5 balls) India lost two wickets in a men's Test innings, with the previous record being of 6 balls, when Trent Boult dismissed Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara at Auckland in the 2013/14 series.

Yet another first in the Gambhir era.
Jaiswal, second ball, tried to cut one and missed, and he immediately shook his legs - Stuart Broad
Speaking on JioHotstar during the Lunch break on Day 4, Stuart Broad said that Indian batters were tired when they came out to bat after fielding for a long time, which resulted in a poor start.
"Fresh legs, fresh bowlers. If you give your bowlers two nights' sleep in a Test match, they will come out and make the ball talk. It's an interesting one, Jaiswal, second ball, tried to cut one and missed, and he immediately shook his legs.
"You know what you do when you've got lactic acid in your legs, you've got to shake them out and get some feeling. That to me showed that mentally and physically, he was tired, and he was trying to switch himself on.
“Sudharsan… it was complete mental and physical tiredness, which, in your second Test match, when you have fielded for over 160 overs, is completely understandable.”
