England cricketer George Garton took a stunning catch at covers to get rid of Moises Henriques during the Big Bash League's Challenger between Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder at the SCG. It was a sharp chance that was well held by the allrounder.

During the 13th over of the match, left-arm spinner Tom Andrews bowled a length delivery outside off stump. Sixers skipper Moises Henriques looked to drill the ball through the covers and even connected his shot cleanly.

However, the ball was in the air and George Garton, who was placed at the covers, flew to his left to complete a stunning catch. Garton's quick reflexes were on show here as he completed one of the best catches of the season.

Garton threw the ball up in the air in celebration after catching the ball. He was congratulated by his teammates for a brilliant catch that was aimed for a boundary. It was a sharp catch from England's bowling allrounder.

Moises Henriques was dismissed for 29 off 30 balls. He was dismissed at a time when he could have taken his team to a comfortable position. Henriques is a big-match player and has played a no. of key knocks for his team over the years in high-pressure games.

Sydney Thunder start the match well

Earlier, Sydney Thunder won the toss and elected to field first. Sydney Sixers were rocked early and lost both their openers inside the first four overs. Wicketkeeper-batter Josh Philippe tried to resurrect the innings but was unfortunately run out at the non-striker's end.

Moises Henriques took his time to rebuild the innings. As he was starting to get into the groove, he lost his wicket to a brilliant catch from George Garton. Youngster Lachlan Shaw was dismissed for a second-ball duck. At 76-5, it seemed like the Sixers' innings would fold up quickly.

Jordan Silk and Ben Dwarshuis resurrect the innings

But Jordan Silk and Ben Dwarshuis formed a great partnership down the order. Both stitched together a partnership of 56 runs to get the innings back on track. Ben Dwarshuis was dismissed by George Garton later in the innings but the allrounder had already done his job by then. He was out for a quickfire 30 off 20 balls.

Jordan Silk remained unbeaten on 43 off just 30 deliveries with 2 fours and 2 sixes as Sydney Sixers finished with a respectable score of 151-7 in 20 overs. Wes Agar and Tom Andrews picked up two wickets apiece for Sydney Thunder while Nathan McAndrew and George Garton picked up a wicket each.

Sydney Thunder need 152 runs to win this match. The winner of this match will face Hobart Hurricanes in the final which will be played at Hobart on January 27.
