Punjab Kings (PBKS) batter Glenn Maxwell had another terrible outing with that bat in the ongoing game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match between the two teams is underway at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Glenn Maxwell, who has been going through a torrid run of form, was expected to set the stage on fire in the ongoing game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. But that wasn't the case, as he was back in the hut without making any bigger impact, and that put the team on the back foot.

Glenn Maxwell walked out to bat after Punjab Kings lost Shashank Singh in the 15th over. With conditions being good for batting, it was expected that he would cash on the start that the team had. But the batter had a torrid outing.

He was removed by Harshal Patel in the 18th over when the pacer bowled a full toss on off-stump. Glenn Maxwell got down low and looked to scoop it over third man but couldn't get the bat low enough. The ball hit his back leg and deflected back onto the stumps.

What caught the attention of many was the reaction of Kavya Maran. The Sunrisers Hyderabad owner was chuffed to bits as he stood up and celebrated the wicket aggressively.

Glenn Maxwell was back in the hut after scoring 3 runs off 7 balls. After he got out Shreyas Iyer played a magical innings. The Punjab Kings skipper played a brilliant hand of 82 runs off 36 balls before Marcus Stoinis finished the innings on high.

Stoinis (34*) played a brutal cameo in the end. He slammed Mohammed Shami for four sixes in the last over that powered Punjab Kings to the massive total of 245 runs on the board in their quote of 20 overs.

Nice to make a contribution, a little cameo from me there - Marcus Stoinis

Marcus Stoinis talked about his innings down the order, saying that it was nice for him to make a contribution. He was hopeful for Punjab Kings defending the target and said:

"Nice to make a contribution, a little cameo from me there. There was a bit of spin and bounce. It's a very good score, depends on how we start in the powerplay and how we finish."

Sunrisers Hyderabad chased the target with eight wickets in hand

However, his hopes were shattered by the Sunrisers Hyderabad batters. Abhishek Sharma coming out all guns blazing. The opening batter slammed 141 runs off 55 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 256 and also hit 14 fours and 10 sixes during his stay at the crease.

Travis Head (66) and Heinrich Klaasen (21*) supported him well as Sunrisers Hyderabad chased the target with eight wickets in hand.
