Hardik Pandya's name was chanted by every fan present at the Wankhede stadium on Thursday night as they gave the Indian cricketers a night to remember. 

It was an eventful Thursday for the Indian World Cup-winning cricket team as they landed in Delhi and then went to meet the Prime Minister. From New Delhi, the team landed in Mumbai for a roadshow from Nariman Point to the Wankhede stadium. 

The streets of Mumbai were jampacked as the city welcomed their World Cup heroes. The heroes were welcomed at the Wankhede stadium by the greeting fans. 

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma while speaking to presenter Gaurav Kapur had a special mention for Hardik who bowled the tough final over in the final over. Rohit was in the middle of his speech and as soon the Indian skipper mentioned Hardik's name, Wankhede produced a deafening roar to salute the Mumbai Indians captain for his World Cup final heroics.

“Hardik was bowling the last crucial over for us. Hats off to him for that last. You know how many over you need to defend, there is always so much pressure to bowl that over, hats off to him,” Rohit said.

Hardik Pandya also acknowledged the Wankhede crowd for praising him. Not very long ago, Hardim as the Mumbai Indians captain was booed by the same Wankhede crowd. He was booed by fans at every stadium in the IPL. He managed his redemption by making them chant his name this time around. 

The final over was poised with South Africa needing 16 to win with David Miller still at the wicket. Hardik dismissed Miller of the very first ball with SKY taking the catch of the tournament. Suryakumar's effort to complete the catch was praised and lauded by the cricket experts as well.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya's entry to the Mumbai airport was no less heroic. He was seen wearing nice glasses, with chewing gum and the ICC T20 World Cup trophy on his shoulders making a heroic entry. The crowd at the Mumbai airport went berserk seeing Hardik and chanting his name all the way through. 

The bus parade for the Indian players marked another important moment in their lives. The crowd from Nariman Point across Marine Drive waited in numbers to cheer their heroes. It was almost a sea of people just close to the Arabian Sea.

Hardik Pandya''s performance in this World Cup proved why he is among the best all-rounders in the modern game. He scored 144 runs and picked up 11 wickets in the tournament. The ICC T20 World Cup final was his 100th T20I match as well and his performance made it even more special. 

"Changed everything and it was about time to get it. Knew if I was not going to be calm it would not help me execute my plans and make sure every ball I bowled I commit 100%. So yes, I've been in this situation, I've not won it but for me, I’ve always enjoyed pressure situations. All of a sudden my run-up speed increased as well when the time came, it's been wonderful" said Hardik after India's T20 World Cup win.
