Hardik Pandya jokingly threatens to hit Jasprit Bumrah
India and Sri Lanka are facing off against each other in the 18th and last Super Four match of the Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai International Stadium on Friday, September 26.
This is a dead-rubber encounter between the teams as India have already qualified for the final of the Asia Cup 2025 while Sri Lanka have already been knocked out of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bowl first against India. They made one change to the Playing XI with Janith Liyange coming in for Chamika Karunaratne.
On the other hand, India made a couple of changes to the playing XI for the inconsequential match as they rested Jasprit Bumrah and Shivam Dube and brought in Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana.
Coming back to the Hardik Pandya-Jasprit Bumrah incident, it happened when the players were doing warm-ups.
In a short clip that was published by a fan on X ahead of the commencement of the India vs Sri Lanka game, Hardik Pandya was jump-scared for a moment seeing Jasprit Bumrah steaming in to bowl despite him being in the firing line. Hardik Pandya hilariously responded to Bumrah's act by threatening to hit him with the ball, but nothing was serious between the duo.

Why are you creating turmoil? - Ex-India star
Speaking on his official YouTube channel ahead of the India vs Sri Lanka clash, Aakash Chopra urged Gautam Gambhir and Suryakumar Yadav to stop the turmoil in the playing XI. He elaborated:
"It's an inconsequential game otherwise, but it's important from India's perspective. Will you experiment more, as we are doing so open-heartedly? A turmoil is being seen in the XI. However, will anyone outside the XI also be seen? That's the big question.
"Will Jitesh Sharma or Rinku be seen? Will Arshdeep get a chance? These are the bigger questions. Will they continue with Bumrah or rest him? Why are you creating turmoil? Continue playing the same team as it's going well. Don't change too much because the next game is the final.
"If you wish, change before the game. Play Arshdeep, Rinku and Jitesh if you wish. Whatever you want to do, do it before the game. Experiments are helpful if you gain something from them and are able to stick with them. You cannot stick with whatever you are trying to do. You are not going to send Sanju Samson consistently at No. 8."
