Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya made a big blunder during the ongoing game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match between the two teams is taking place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Mumbai Indians opted to field first and had a decent start to their innings with Trent Boult bowling well in the first over. However, he had a great chance to take his team off to a flying start with the ball, but that was bottled by skipper Hardik Pandya and the pacer.

On the 4th ball of the over, Trent Boult bowled a full ball that curled away at 135.9 kph. Mitchell Marsh looked to drive, and it seemed that he got beaten on the outer edge. There wasn't any appeal from the Mumbai Indians camp, and hence, they cost them.

However, later it was revealed that Mitchell Marsh had edged that delivery. But they didn't appeal and got away. As it was shown on the big screen, Trent Boult was left shocked, while skipper Hardik Pandya was left disappointed with the outcome.

Not appealing for the caught behind costed Mumbai Indians as lot as Lucknow Super Giants opener Mitchell Marsh went hammers and tongs at the bowlers. He looked in brutal touch as he smashed the ball all over the park, putting the Hardik Pandya-led side under massive pressure.

Mitchell Marsh slammed a brutal half-century as he ended up playing the magical innings of 60 runs off 31 balls. The Lucknow Super Giants opening batter batted with a strike rate of over 194 in his innings and also hit 9 fours and 2 sixes during his stay at the crease.

Hardik Pandya led from the front with the ball for Mumbai Indians

On the other hand, Hardik Pandya led from the front with the ball for Mumbai Indians. The all-rounder bowled tight lines and lengths and went on to pick a fifer, becoming the first-ever IPL captain to pick a 5-wicket haul and etching his name in the record book.

Hardik Pandya returned with the figures of 5/35 and this is his best figures in T20 cricket, bettering his 4/16 against New Zealand in Ahmedabad in 2023. His brilliant effort with the ball saw Mumbai Indians restricting Lucknow Super Giants to a total of 203 runs on the board.

Apart from Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram was the star with the bat for Lucknow Super Giants as he slammed a brilliant half-century, ending with 53-run knock. Ayush Badoni (30) also played a decent hand with the bat as the Rishabh Pant-led side posted a total past 200 runs on the board.
