Harshal Patel, on Thursday (March 27), took a brilliant catch to send back Ayush Badoni in the ongoing game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

LSG were well ahead in the game when Harshal Patel took the catch. While the catch is unlikely to change the course of the game, it might give SRH an outside chance of pulling off an unlikely win.

Harshal Patel pulled off the catch on the final ball of the 13th over bowled by Adam Zampa. Ayush Badoni was batting on 6 runs off 5 balls when he decided to play a big shot against the Australian leg-spinner.

Zampa bowled a googly on the off stump and Badoni had read the delivery correctly. He decided to play a slog sweep but failed to make good contact with the ball. He ended up top-edging it towards deep mid-wicket. Even though the ball went really high, it looked like it would land in no man's land.

However, Harshal Patel had other plans. The SRH pacer came charging in and kept his eyes on the ball throughout before catching it just inches above the ground with a stunning diving effort.

LSG in the driver's seat:

While Harshal Patel's catch gave SRH a much-needed breakthrough, it was perhaps too late for them to make a comeback in the game. By the time Badoni was dismissed, LSG had raced away to 154/4 in just 13 overs while chasing 191 runs.

The Lucknow-based outfit was off to a poor start with Aiden Markram departing for just 1 run. However, Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh put the team in the driver's seat with a whirlwind partnership of 116 runs.

Pooran was the destructor-in-chief, smashing 70 runs from just 26 balls with the help of 6 fours and as many sixes. On the other hand, Marsh scored 52 off 31 balls. Earlier in the game, SRH recovered from a poor start to post a competitive total of 190/9 in the allotted 20 overs.
