Harshit Rana had to endure agonizing pain after hurting his elbow while fielding during the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings at the Eden Gardens on Friday (April 26).
The incident took place in the 14th over when his teammate Varun Chakravarthy was bowling to Prabhsimran Singh. On the first ball of the over, Chakravarthy bowled one just outside the off stump, and Prabhsimran pulled the ball towards the right of Harshit Rana, who was standing at long-on.
The KKR pacer had the chance to take off a spectacular catch and he did not shy away from putting in a dive. The ball was falling on him, and even though Harshit Rana came up with a good effort, he could not hold on to the ball.

And in doing so, he ended up hurting himself. While diving for the catch, he fell right on the practice pitch and ended up scraping his elbow. He looked in pain straightaway as he started rolling on the field before Rinku Singh checked on him. Fortunately for KKR, Harshit Rana eventually stood up.

While Rana did stand up, he has not bowled any overs till the 19th over of the innings. At the time of writing this report, PBKS were on 184/3 in the 19th over. Shreyas Iyer and Marco Jansen were batting in the middle for the tourists.
Before the injury, Rana bowled two overs but could not make any impact. He conceded 27 runs in those two overs and failed to pick up a wicket.
Meanwhile, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh gave PBKS a solid start with the bat after their captain, Shreyas Iyer, won the toss and opted to bat first. The PBKS openers added 120 runs for the first wicket before Andre Russell broke the stand by dismissing Priyansh for 69. On the other hand, Prabhsimran scored 83 before being sent back by Vaibhav Arora.
